How did you first learn about JJWC?
Jan Kopman, a former Junior, introduced me to the club.
What made you decide to join JJWC?
I was looking for a way to give back to my community so I attended a meeting and was impressed with the club. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It’s wonderful to be with like-minded people and make a difference in our community.
What has been your favorite service project or event to be a part of?
I love all of our projects. From participating in Feed My Starving Children to helping people make posters at the Take Back The Night rally every year: But I also love the unique projects our clubs does like creating a play room at Guardian Angel for the children and stocking a free lending library at Will-Grundy Medical Clinic, or our Nee Year, New You event Stephanie Perella & I hosted for our members. My favorite committee to be a part of is the philanthropy committee. It is so rewarding seeing our dollars raised through fundraising go to deserving charities in our community.
How have you personally grown or benefitted from being in JJWC?
As I said before, it is very rewarding personally to give back to our community. I also have made great friendships though my years of membership in JJWC and I love participating in our monthly book club.
Tell us a little about your family and what you do for a living.
My husband and I have two sons who both live & work in Chicago. We are enjoying our empty nest (with the exception of our spoiled dog Tater Tot who gets a lot of our attention). I am an accountant by trade, and an avid reader. I also enjoy yoga, hiking and spending time outdoors.
What's a fun fact that most people might not know about you?
Fun fact? Hmmm, I have no idea. Ask some of my Juniors friends. Maybe they can come up with something. Lol.
