The JJWC group of 30+ members historically held a yearly fundraiser. As the Club has changed to meet the needs of the community, so has the annual fundraiser. For example, in the early years, the annual spring fundraiser for JJWC was the Easter Seal’s Ball. As the community grew and other noteworthy charitable organizations were started, however, the Club evolved as well. From the Ball, the annual fundraiser changed to a Comedy Night, which was hosted at different venues in the area, including the Rialto Square Theater. More recently, the annual fundraiser changed to an autumn fundraiser named “Cause for Celebration,” and was held at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet featuring a live band. Throughout the years, Past Presidents have put their own mark on the events, changing the themes and showcasing the Club and the organizations they serve.
In 2018, the Joliet Junior Woman’s Club is celebrating 60 years of giving back to our community! The Club has decided to switch the annual fundraiser to the spring to celebrate Mardi Gras! 100% of the proceeds raised at this event will be distributed to area service organizations, so please join us in celebrating this incredible milestone ~ 60 years of giving back to Joliet!
