How did you first learn about JJWC?

My mom was a Junior when I was a little girl. A few years ago my sister saw a meet and greet on Facebook so we decided to check it out.

What made you decide to join JJWC?

I like helping out in the community, and I love the friendships I have made.

What has been your favorite service project or event to be a part of?

I always enjoy our Cause for Celebration, but one of my favorite service projects was revamping the preschool room at the Warren Sharpe Center.

How have you personally grown or benefitted from being in JJWC?

I feel involved in our community, and I feel like our club really makes a difference in women and children’s lives.

Tell us a little about your family and what you do for a living.

My husband and I met when we taught together at Dirksen Junior High. We have been married for 9 years and have 3 children, Gabby, Grant, and Griffin. My husband, Art, now works at Jane Addams Middle School and I still work at Dirksen as an 8th grade English teacher. I have been teaching for 17 years.

What's a fun fact that most people might not know about you?

I collect cows and I have traveled to almost every state.
