How did you first learn about JJWC?
I was asked to join the ladies at Feed My Starving Children last year. I brought my then 13 year old daughter with me and it was such a wonderful experience to be a part of.
What made you decide to join JJWC?
I went to the paint and sip night at Will County Brewing this past summer and loved it! The vibe, the like mindedness, and the passion within each person there was enough for me to say “where do I sign!”
What has been your favorite service project or event to be a part of?
I have fully enjoyed the meetings and hearing the updates and success of the organization as a whole, but also the accomplishments and involvement of the Joliet chapter. I also enjoy being involved in the planning of the upcoming Masquerade Ball!
How have you personally grown or benefitted from being in JJWC?
It allowed me to learn just how much service can be done in our community to help our fellow neighbors, in addition to spreading our wings to surrounding areas, even internationally!
Tell us a little about your family and what you do for a living.
I am a mother to a teen daughter who is my world. She and I have such an amazing relationship, and I look forward to her joining as helping hands. I currently work as a safety and compliance manager for a large national pallet recycler. Everything we buy needs to move around, and our private fleet does their part in that process. I also work part-time in retail for a company I love to shop from! Recently, I became an independent business owner for a health and wellness company and absolutely love the life changes I’m helping people achieve! All 3 aspects are very rewarding in their own way.
What's a fun fact that most people might not know about you?
I sponsor a little boy named Juan in Honduras and love getting letters from him and his family. It sparks some real joy in my heart.
