How did you first learn about JJWC?

I first learned about JJWC when I was looking for a way to help my community. I read the website and thought it sounded like a club that I would be interested in. I then learned that a coworker was a member, and that was all that I needed to attend my first meeting.

What made you decide to join JJWC?

I joined JJWC because I was interested in making a difference in my community. I loved the diversity of service areas, the ability to participate in what fit your schedule, and the relationships I began to develop with other club members.

What has been your favorite service project or event to be a part of?

I have loved being a part of the Cause for Celebration Committee. While it is always a huge task, it is great to see us raising money for the community. I love being on the scholarship committee as well. I am always in awe at how the young members of our community have been able to make a difference in such a huge way. Having the ability to support the recipients as they journey into the next phase of their life is truly rewarding.

How have you personally grown or benefitted from being in JJWC?

Before joining JJWC, I felt that you couldn’t impact your community unless you were involved in big service projects. I have learned that one small act of kindness can go far. It has been so rewarding to know that I have played a part in making someone’s day a little better.

Tell us a little about your family and what you do for a living.

I am a married mother of two amazing daughters, age 9 and 6. I enjoy spending time with them and am actively involved in coaching softball. I work as a criminal defense attorney, with an office in Joliet.

What's a fun fact that most people might not know about you?

I love the water. My best day is sitting near a body of water and relaxing in the sun with a good book and my family nearby. Pool, lake, ocean, or pond, I find my peace in or near the water.
